The barbed wire is a symbol of challenges. Jack tells her reader that barbed wire is her nemesis. This is illustrated later when Jack becomes entangled in barbed wire as she is trying to run from the cottage.

Bugged USB Stick

The bugged USB stick is a symbol of vulnerabilities in security. Jack drops a variety of these USB sticks around the offices of Arden Alliance as she is pen-testing the business. She does this because she wants to see if employees will pick up the sticks and insert them into their computers.

Ring

The ring is a symbol of Gabe’s love. When Jack determines that she does not have enough money in Bitcoin to pay the fee to have the phone cloned, the man insists that she give him her ring to cover the remainder of the cost. Jack does not want to...
