Briana Ortiz

Briana Ortiz is one of two protagonists in Yours Truly. She is a thirty-five-year-old doctor who works at Royaume Northwestern Hospital. At the start of the novel, Briana has two priorities. The first is to help her brother, Benny, regain his health. The second is to get promoted to Gibson’s role—head of emergency surgery—as he is retiring.

Briana’s main trauma is that she was cheated on by her ex-husband, Nick, with her friend, Kelly. Nick’s betrayal solidifies Briana’s belief that all men are traitorous. Briana’s father left when she was young. Briana internalized her mother’s trauma and has been wary of men ever since. When Jacob meets Briana, she is not on the dating market. Indeed, Briana swears to never love again. That all changes the more these rival colleagues get to know one another.
