She met a few people with whom she also became infatuated, a boy she met at her first protest, before becoming more skilled at resistance and sabotage, including burning down a ski resort. She moved west and became infatuated with a girl, with whom she started a 'zine. Then she moved on to Portland where she fell in love with a Greenpeace guy who ended up trying to rape her, but she managed to defend herself and get away.
