Summary
In "Your Duck is My Duck," the first person narrator attends many parties. Through her friends she meets a wealthy couple, Ray and Christa. Later on in the party she learns her ex, Graham, sold them her painting "Blue Hill." When their conversation turns to the narrator complaining about her inability to sleep or paint, they invite her to stay at their beach house. The next month she takes them up on their offer. While waiting for Christa at the airport she sees an apparition of Graham.
On the drive to the house, Christa tells the narrator another artist and puppeteer, Amos Voinovich, is also staying at the house. When they arrive, the narrator is overwhelmed by the house. At dinner, the table is filled with accountants, lawyers, and engineers. Ray barely acknowledges her. The men go on about things...
