Summary

In Chapter 44, Jack decides to ride along with the night patrol in order to investigate whether or not Chambers is acting according to protocol. The night is uneventful, and Jack returns to base and goes on a day patrol to visit Yousef. Jack asks who Yousef thinks killed the mukhtar, and Yousef assumes it was the Americans as retaliation for the mukhtar’s men killing Alphabet. Jack asks Yousef how much it would take to get Rana and her children out of Iraq, and Yousef replies that it will be 50 million dinars, or about 50 thousand dollars. Captain Vrettos radios to tell Jack to come back to base for a meeting, and Jack and Snoop depart.
