Summary

“The Moon” follows Valentine “Val” Neary, a bouncer at a nightclub. Val is almost 30 years old and has been a bouncer for eight years. At the direction of the club, he often permits underage people into the club. Val has recently developed a sexual relationship with a local woman named Martina Boran. Martina is in college and is 19 years old. She grew up in this town and is home for the summer, but she goes to college in another part of Galway. After Val’s shift ends, he meets with Martina and her friend Joan. Martina talks about Aiden, a young man about her age whom she has been dating for a few months. She says Aiden is clingy, and she plans on breaking up with him soon. Martina then talks about a recent trip she took with college...
