Summary

In Chapter 11, Cal leads the trio back to Crave Donuts. They eat and then decide they need to drop Boney’s phone off back near the art studio. When they start heading that way, though, they run into Dale Hawkins and a news crew. Dale recognizes Ivy and tries to interview her, but she and her friends run away. They all go back to Crave Donuts. Ivy and Mateo admit to Cal that they stole Ms. Jamison’s purse at Second Street Café and took her day planner. Cal is angry, but they end up going through it. They find a postcard of Ms. Jamison’s favorite painting with a love note from someone who signs off “D.” Then they find a class roster with Boney’s name circled in red, along with Charlie St. Clair and Mateo.
