Summary
In Chapter 8, Joe calls the songwriter and singer Prince a poet and quotes a line from one of Prince's songs “It’s been seven hours and fifteen days since you took your love away” (58). Joe notes it is “five hours and eight days” (59) before Beck suggests a day for them to meet. Then, she cancels, saying she is too busy with school. Believing that Beck is still hooked on Benji, Joe searches the Internet for information about Benji. He learns that Benji has been to rehab and is running a company selling Home Soda, an alternative to club soda. Beck e-mails Joe to meet her. When he arrives at the place they were supposed to meet, he checks her e-mail and sees that Benji has contacted her. Beck cancels on Joe to meet Benji.
