Grace’s Consulting Room
Grace’s consulting room is the place where the novel opens as she is being interviewed by Rebecca, a representative from Vogue magazine. The opening scene in the office seems to celebrate Grace’s success as a private therapist, a writer, and a wife.
Rearden Academy
Rearden Academy is the school that Grace attended as a child and the school that Grace’s son Henry is attending at the time of the novel. Rearden is significant because the news vans lined up outside the school in hopes of getting information about Malaga and her murder. Robert, the headmaster, meets with Grace in his office to explain to her that he had to tell the police that Jonathan was paying Miguel’s tuition, only to discover that Grace had no idea what her husband was doing.
