Grace Reinhart Sachs is the main character in the novel. The novel is narrated through her perspective. The novel follows the story of Grace’s transformation from a woman who believed her husband, Jonathan, was a saint to one who came to realize that she had been terribly deceived by a clever man with a mental illness.
