Dan joins Vanessa Abrams and Jenny for the film viewing. Serena is supposed to join them, and he wants to see her film. Serena is late. Vanessa knows that Dan is really there to see Serena, and it bothers her because she has a huge crush on him.

Vanessa knows her film isn't good. It is borrowed from a scene from War and Peace by Tolstoy. The dialogue and the acting in the film are terrible, and she hopes judges will concentrate on the cinematography rather than the acting. Serena's film turned out extremely well. This frustrates Vanessa because she knows that Serena really had no idea how to make a film. Somehow it ended out riveting anyway. Vanessa did most of the filming for it.
