Summary

In Chapter 14, Mark woke up hungover and cleaned the house. He remembered the day Brendan had died, and thought about how he had sent his son upstairs because he was throwing a tantrum over cleaning his room. Brendan had been angry, and so had packed a bag and called a friend, planning to sneak out, but instead he had fallen down the stairs. Mark imagined Brendan as a ghost, and wondered what it would mean if Connie was telling the truth. Alison came home from her sisters and got into bed with Mark, but he thought about Chloe and her voicemail.
