Summary

In Chapter 41, Patrick arrives at June’s party. Jayne realizes that June invited him. Jayne mentions Aliyah to Patrick, and he says that he had wanted to tell Jayne about her. Jayne says that he does not owe her an explanation. June introduces Jayne and Patrick to a man named Salim, with whom she is leaving the party. Jayne tells Patrick that she will accompany them back. When she gets into a car with them to return to June’s apartment, Patrick comes along.

In Chapter 42, Patrick and Jayne have a conversation outside of June’s apartment after June has gone inside with Salim. Patrick explains that he and Aliyah have broken up. Previously, they were experimenting with having an open relationship, a situation that turned out not to suit him. Jayne tells Patrick about her difficult relationship with Jeremy.
