Summary

Chapter Thirty-One starts from Jamie’s perspective as he wakes up the next day, bleary and still upset. He cried all night. He has never gotten so many texts, and even one telling him he and Maya are on Buzzfeed. His Mom comes into his room and asks if he wants to talk. Jamie thinks, “One Instagram post ruined everything. Every single thing” (382). He thinks about what Maya said to him about them dating not happening. Jamie tells his Mom about what happened and that Maya confused him by almost kissing him then saying it was a mistake. He rubs the last of the chocolate icing off of his wrist that Maya left.
