Summary

Chapter Twenty-Three starts from Jamie’s perspective as he and Maya walk into the campaign office feeling like they have stepped into a new universe. The campaign office bookstore is packed and busy, and the mood feels hopeful. Gabe hugs them and tells the volunteers that Jamie filmed the Fifi troll and now has over a million views. Gabe tells Maya and Jamie all the news stories they have generated since, and says “We’re going viral baby!” (287). Maya and Jamie talk about how Rossum might have a chance at winning. Hannah signs them up for Election Day activities and thanks them and Jamie thinks, “I mean, our video actually changed the course of the campaign. It did that. We [italicized] did that.
