Summary
Though Mr. Ford Mathews and Lois agree that it is a cottagette, it is larger than it looks, and Malda is delighted with its distance from other houses. It does not contain a kitchen, but meals are served nearby at High Court, a mountain resort used for a summer school of music and higher thought. Malda likes the music, but she loves the cottagette without reserve. The views are beautiful, and though she also enjoys the company of the musicians at High Court, it would not matter if they were not present as long as Ford was there. Ford is a former newspaper man who writes for a magazine, and he is currently writing a book. He spends much time visiting Malda and Lois who make a safe, reasonable household.
