Lodz Ghetto

The Lodz Ghetto is the area in Lodz that that Nazi soldiers forced Jewish people to relocate to, forcing a few hundred thousand people to occupy an area that would normally house approximately thirty thousand. It is very dangerous and people are shot in the street.

The Apartment

The apartment is where Syvia’s family lives inside the ghetto. It is where the sheet hangs in the window when Syvia and her father Isaac are sleeping in the graveyard to let them know the Nazis are gone.

Cellar

The cellar is where the remaining children in the ghetto are hidden. It is where Syvia is taken and beaten by a Nazi soldier.

Cemetery

The cemetery is where Syvia and her father Isaac spend the night in order to hide from the Nazi soldiers who are rounding up all of the children to be killed.
