Summary

In Chapter 8, “Polygon Plaza,” O takes the narrator to “a colossal building” on “the far outskirts of Seoul” (121). She gives the narrator her ID card and tells her to enter the building, Polygon Plaza. Via the card, the narrator discovers that O’s real name is Oseol. Inside, she learns that the boyband is there. She meets Sun, who looks surprisingly aged. Then an office worker introduces the narrator to Polygon Plaza, insisting the boys are eager to meet her.

Sun and the office worker give the narrator a tour. The narrator is particularly taken with the “dark, musky library” (126). With the exception of the Music Professor’s social critiques, the library is organized according to the first word of every book.
