Summary

Chapter 16. In the vision the sword shows her, Penryn sees Raffe on many battlefields, always alone. Then Penryn sees the day she and Raffe met, but this time from Raffe’s point of view.

Chapter 17. Penryn then tries to get the sword to show her a happy memory, but it will not. Penryn goes out into the hallway where she runs into the twins. Someone tells them that there has been a death outside. Penryn goes with the twins out of curiosity and is shocked when she realizes that her sister has killed one of the men who had attacked Penryn the day before.
