Summary

Chapter 1. Penryn frightens everyone when she sits up. They had all thought she was dead, but she simply had been paralyzed by the scorpion sting. One of the twins, whom Penryn has taken to calling Dum and Dee, orders the men to leave Penryn alone.

Chapter 2. They arrive at the Resistance headquarters. Dum and Dee take the new arrivals inside and assign them each a place to rest. Penryn, her mother, and Paige get a whole classroom to themselves. Paige complains of being hungry, the only word she has really said since they found her.

Chapter 3. Penryn settles down to sleep and has a strange dream about her sister, her sister as she once was rather than the surgically altered girl she is now.

Chapter 4. One of the twins comes to get Penryn. He asks her about her sword and she jokingly claims...
