In chapter 7, the Rondys crew worked quickly to make up for the week they lost during the strike. Spike liked that Vern Hall left them to their own devices, rarely making any comment about how they were working. Vern Hall had been fishing on the Bering Sea since he was in high school and his father bought the crab boat King-n-Wing, so he was veteran who trusted his crew.
