Isaiah
Isaiah is the main character and the narrator of the narrative. In addition to really being a mouse, at the beginning of the novel he behaves timidly, in the same way that humans call other humans mouse-like. He is also a follower who depends on his family for leadership. In addition to being timid, he also has blue fur and is extremely intelligent due to the experiments that have been conducted on him at the lab. He knows how to speak and type.
When Isaiah first leaves the lab he is a scared follower. However, in overcoming the barriers in the beginning of the novel, and being the only member of his family who does so, he is able to literally find his voice and the courage to help others. His return to the lab at the end of the novel and shows how much he has grown...
