Summary

As Mikayla eats in Chapter 41, Isaiah and Hailey chat with each other. School is better for Hailey, and they talk about reading. Hailey wraps some food for Mikayla and Isaiah to take back with them and walks them back to their house. As they sit in the hood of her sweatshirt, Isaiah sings to Mikayla and Mikayla sings to him again.

In Chapter 42, Lucifer is chasing them in the house and has Mikayla, Gabriel, Guilliver and Isaiah cornered in the bathroom. Isaiah gets the idea, based on a book he read, to have Mikayla sing the battle cry of the mice. She does so even though the other mice who do not believe she can sing are there. In response, the other mice come to their aid, sending Lucifer into hiding.
