Summary
In Chapter 31 Isaiah warns Gabriel that they need to leave because Mr. Brophy is a bad man, but Gabriel protests because Mr. Brophy often brings home good food. When Isaiah says that they need to leave right away, Gabriel sniffs the air and responds that he smells grease, which means fast food. Isaiah follows Mikayla as she goes to find some fried apple pie. Just as he is about to try some pie, they hear a snap.
In Chapter 32, Isaiah and Mikayla discover that Gwindell has been caught in a mouse trap. They try to get her out, but cannot do so and end up having to hide while she is still in the trap when Mr. Brophy comes back into the kitchen.
