Chapters 21 through 30 Summary
After Harper leaves, Tyson recalls his second meeting with Sister Teresa. He had gone to visit her in the convent, taking her a Christmas gift of soap, wine and other small luxuries. He had driven her to the Joan of Arc Church, arranging to meet her again the following day and to play piano for a children's party.
Tyson next goes to visit Picard, discovers that he doesn't like the man but can't quite dislike him either, and learns that Marcy has also been to visit Picard, asking questions about the truth of Picard's book. Picard confides to Tyson that he probably shouldn't have used the chapter about the hospital massacre unless he was also willing to use stories that showed himself in a poor light - light the day he met a little boy with his genitals blown off and...
