Part 2: Proper Gauge, 13 – 17
In Chapter 13, Marck tells Jahns and Marnes that he had expected Juliette, whom he calls Jules, not to last long in the down deep. They give her the job of carrying pumps up four flights of stairs to Walker’s office to respool them. Juliette gets one pump upstairs, which she trades out at Walker’s shop making him think she’s brought new ones up. In reality, she learned to respool the things herself so she wouldn’t have to carry them all upstairs.
