Perspective

The story is written in first person. The book takes moments where John is remembering things and that is written in past tense. There are times when he is talking about current life aspects that are written in present tense and moments when he is talking about what will happen later on that are written in future tense. The book is based on John Woodens opinions on life, basketball, and other things.

He has many opinions about things and is rather bold is telling about them. He is willing to name players, and coaches that he feels are either right or wrong in their behavior, coaching and playing.
