Part 4 Summary and Analysis
Wooden begins to discuss his time as a teacher and the parents that would come to him and be upset because their child wasn't making high grades. Wooden states that there are many people who are average and if you are truly trying your best there is no shame or failure if you have lower grades. He states that many of his ideals on this subject came from the words of his father and years of thinking of the true definition of success. Wooden came to a realization about success and developed a pyramid over fourteen years that describes his ideals on it. His definition of success being that you have peace of mind that is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.
