Wild Woman Archetype

One theme of this book is to help women to understand the Wild Woman archetype. Part of how Estes does this is to share numerous stories she has culled from ethnically diverse sources. Readers meet at least one form of the Wild Woman in nearly every story. The guises are not all the same.

This is one of the features of an archetype. It shows up in the culture through diverse forms. Archetypes are very much like principles in the respect that the same one can appear in a variety of stories and guises.
