Mary Beard
Mary Beard is an English scholar that specializes in classics, particularly in Roman ancient history and classical art and archaeology. She completed her Bachelor’s and PhD at the University of Cambridge, where she is also currently a professor. Beard is known for presenting her work in a way that is accessible to a general audience, and thus is well-known to the public. In this vein, she wrote and presented a BBC documentary about the everyday lives of people in Ancient Rome, as well as a television program on Pompeii.
