Wolfsbane is the second in the Nightshade Series by Andrea Cremer. Nightshade is the name of Calla Tor's wolf pack, a group of human beings who can transform into wolves. The wolves were created by a group called the Keepers as protection from another group known as the Searchers. In the first novel, Calla has run away from the Keepers in order to protect her love, Shay, who has been identified by the Searchers as the Scion, a weapon that could help the Searchers finally win the centuries old war against the Keepers.
