Truth

The overwhelming power of truth to bring about justice is a primary theme of Wizard's First Rule. Richard's appointment as Seeker of the Truth elevates him from a humble woods guide to a position even more powerful than Zedd the First Wizard or Kahlan, the Mother Confessor. The Seeker has the ultimate power to question anyone, and even makes kings quake in their boots. If he finds need to, he can kill anyone with the magical Sword of Truth. The sword's magic prevents it from being used on anyone the Seeker does not believe to be truly guilty and deserving of death. The fierce boundary wardens serve only the Seeker and do not answer to any king.
