Chapters 46- 49 Summary

In Chapter 46, Richard decides that if he cannot keep the last box away from Rahl, he must help the villain because he cannot bear to see Kahlan tortured. He finds Kahlan and Zedd, but because of Rahl's spell, he looks like Darken Rahl to them. They attack him and he leaves quickly. Then he finds Michael, and realizes that his brother is a follower of Rahl.

In Chapter 47, the two quads led by Demmin Nass catch up with Zedd, Kahlan and Chase. Zedd is bound by a powerful spell, Chase with ropes. Nass cannot be harmed by Kahlan's powers, because he is protected by a spell. He breaks Kahlan's arm and gives her to his men to rape. Nass tells Kahlan Richard is dead.
