Summary

When Nyawira mentions ogres, Kamiti asks Nyawira to ask Vinjinia if Tajirika has grown a second mouth. Kamiti points out that all the ministers and officials in the Ruler’s government have begun wearing backwards baseball caps. Nyawira sends Maritha and Mariko to ask Vinjinia, who firmly rejects the implication that Tajirika is an ogre. Maritha and Mariko report that, while they were visiting Vinjinia, her daughter Gaciru got stuck in something called the Lake of Tears. At the sight of Gaciru frozen on the lake, Maritha and Mariko are suddenly struck by a case of uncontrollable laughter. Their tears fill the lake and everything that was once frozen begins to move again.
