Chapter 9, Summary

Roland, Cuthbert, Susan, Alain and Sheemie meet in the stables. Roland says they are done playing games and it is time to be real gunslingers. They go to the Citgo and use firecrackers to light the oil derricks on fire. Eldred Jonas is having sex with Coral Thorin when he realizes the Citgo is exploding. Clay Reynolds comes to tell him the gunslingers have escaped. He tells Reynolds to put together an advanced party. At a hermit hut in the woods, Roland takes Susan aside and tells her he loves her. Jonas makes arrangements with Coral Thorin to meet her outside town if things go wrong. He, Reynolds, Rhea and their party are riding along the Drop. Susan and Sheemie watch as Roland, Cuthbert and Alain leave to ambush the men. Alain uses the touch to determine the men are coming. Rhea calls...
