Chapters 17-19 Summary
IN chapter 17 Eve rushes to the hospital to wait for information on Trueheart. While waiting she is reprimanded by Peabody for suggesting that she had been wrong for allowing Trueheart to be on the scene. Peabody reminds Eve that it could have easily been Peabody instead of Trueheart that was in surgery, and the aide would be very angry if Eve questioned her abilities in police work. Also at the hospital Eve meets Trueheart's mother. The woman is calm, sure her son will be fine because as his mother she would know immediately if that was not the case. Once again Eve is amazed by love.
The following morning Eve meets with her captain and gives him her report to date. Eve is given permission to pursue a warrant into Landsdowne's past. Before she can rest Roarke calls Eve and tells...
