Chapters 1-3 Summary
WITNESS IN DEATH is a novel centering on Eve Dallas, a homicide detective in New York City in the year 2059. Dallas investigates the murder of Richard Draco, an actor in a play presented in a theater owned by her husband, Roarke. The investigation takes many twists and turns with Eve sometimes unsure if the actors involved are still acting. Dallas is able to sort truth from fiction and solve the case, despite the fact that the victim seems to have deserved his fate.
In chapter one, Eve Dallas enjoys a play with her husband Roarke at his recently opened New Globe Theater. The two banter about the play, with Roarke enjoying Eve's take on the action as it unfolds.
