Chapters 34-36 Summary
Ryan tells Douglas that they missed something important; how did the drug people know that Doris was in Pittsburgh. Baltimore police found out from the police in Pittsburgh, one of whom was the pastor's son. This confirms what they suspected, that there is a rat inside the police department.
The state police who were holding Xantha took up a helicopter. It was the first flight for both officers. The chopper heads for Bloodsworth Island. In the air, the officer points out where he found Xantha walking and that it's about two miles from the water. They are looking for the drug lab about which she was talking. They fly lower to check the area and find a boat with a cooler and other things among the derelicts. They call the Coast Guard for assistance, and Oreza responds to the call and...
