Chapters 19-21 Summary
Lieutenant Ryan, Douglas and other police officers were at the murder scene. This one had a different M.O. than the others did. There was no robbery and the men were shot from a distance. Then they find the man that was knifed and Virginia Charles, the woman whom he had attacked. She describes the wino who rescued her.
The marines are in training at Quantico. There is a playground and a mock village set up with mannequins and a parking lot with cars that are moved around for the benefit of Soviet reconnaissance satellites. Their training was done around the satellite schedule.
Kelly thinks about the events of the night before. He knows that he was seen by Virginia Charles, but she could not identify him in his disguise, but he had left the wine bottle behind. He still needed...
