Chapters 16-18 Summary
The police find the bodies of Archie and Jughead. They identify them but can't find any shell casings. The various police officers and staff examine the crime scene, looking for evidence and say that the hit was professional. It isn't the work of a junkie or the mob.
Kelly goes home and showers and shaves. He runs for half an hour and then disposes of the clothing he had worn the night before. Kelly stops by Sam's office for some disposable gloves. Sam asks Kelly to drive Sandy home. which he does. They talk about Vietnam and the violence and what the war is all about on the way.
