Summary

In Chapter 5, Magnus takes her on a tour of the house. She sees hands that seem confined behind the walls, but knows they are more serious than they seem in the daylight. The fact that 10 other debtera have left without completing the job confirms that. She sees other Manifestations, including a hallway where snow is falling. Magnus reveals a closet filled with silver discs and other supplies for making amulets. Andromeda's first thought is that she could live in comfort for the rest of her life with that much silver, but she dismisses the possibility of stealing from Magnus when he is already paying her so much and she knows God is watching. Magnus asks about the process. Andromeda describes visualizing the “map” she will carve onto a disc to address each specific Manifestation, “essentially sending them back to where they came from...
