The next day, Ciszek was processed and placed in a cell which was more like a hotel room. Later he learned that the building had been a hotel. After a breakfast of bread, a sugar cube and hot water, Ciszek paced back and forth in his cell, partly to keep warm and partly to have something to do. No sleeping was allowed during the day. After a meager dinner, each prisoner was taken to the toilet. After two days without incident, Ciszek was woken in the middle of the night when guards stormed into his room. He was taken down long corridors then up several flights of stairs where he was asked the same questions he had been asked over the months at Perm.
