Summary
In pages 82 - 121, Gail told Ree Floyd was sleeping with his high school love, Heather. She left because she could not trust him. She took her in-laws' truck so she and Ree could find Jessup together. Ree's mother seemed confused about baby Ned, until Gail introduced him. Gail asked if Connie knew about Jessup; the girls agreed she could not help even if she did. On the drive, Gail said she asked her dad about Jessup. Gail's father said he knew nothing of Jessup's whereabouts. Ree was distracted, remembering early days of intimacy with Gail. The girls had once practiced kissing with each other. When Ree first kissed a boy she had been disappointed, missing Gail's kisses. Eventually the girls arrived at Jessup's former lover's home. April welcomed them in, but knew nothing of Jessup's whereabouts. They had long ago stopped seeing each...
