Chapters 26-31 Summary

The Iceman returns to the firehouse and watches television, deciding to wait for Weather to get off work. The killer knows he cannot get to Weather anywhere but at the hospital, when she is walking to her car. The Iceman has only slight concerns about the shooting in that the blizzard will not allow him to use a rifle and a scope. The Iceman will have to get close enough to use a handgun.

The Iceman gets to the hospital and goes directly to Jane's woodlot where he will wait. The Iceman hears Rusty and Dusty on their sleds and thinks nothing of it until they stop. The Iceman realizes that they know who he is and what he is about to do. The Iceman shoots Rusty and Dusty.

Chapter 27 begins with complete chaos at the hospital as an ambulance prepares...
