Summary

Sasha and Vasya return to Dmitrii who says she should have recognized Konstantin’s treachery. Vasya says the silver meant to stop the Tartars is lost and that she needs to find Vladimir. Dmitrii says they have to muster an army, but is certain that he will be betrayed by one of his princes, Olag. He wishes he could avoid war, but asks Sergei to bless the army. He asks Vasya what she will give him and she reminds him that she saved the city twice, even though she accidentally set fire to it. She says she and Vladimir will be at the battle in two weeks but they must unite with the chyerti. Dmitrii says he trusts her and reluctantly tells Sasha to go with her.
