Summary
In Chapter 11, after dinner was finished and Anya had gone to bed, Nina suggested that she and Meredith get drunk. Nina was surprised when Meredith agreed. Despite the good start, Meredith got angry when Nina began talking about the fairy tale again. Meredith said that she was not going to listen to the story, and went back to packing for her mother’s move.
Nina left the door to her mother’s room open so that Meredith, who was packing in the bathroom across the hall, could hear their mother’s voice. She reminded her mother she had made a promise to her father to make Anya tell her the fairy tale. Realizing that Nina was not going to stop asking, Anya agreed to tell the story on her terms.
