Summary

“Willing” follows a woman named Sidra, a movie actress in her late thirties. The narration opens by stating that Sidra’s most recent movie was semi-pornographic and that she had been assigned a body double for close-up shots of her character’s body. Sidra has garnered a reputation for being willing to do movies involving nudity. Sidra wishes that she had not been assigned a body double. Sidra’s life takes on a somewhat aimless aspect, and she spends her days sitting alone in juice bars. She still meets with producers and agents about movie projects, but because she is almost forty years old, people propose more matronly roles that do not entice her. Sidra’s boyfriend, a married director, soon returns to his wife, and Sidra is devastated. Sidra moves back to her hometown of Chicago and rents a room by the week...
