Chapters 1 and 2 Summary

As the story opens, Jena says she and her sisters have kept a secret for many years. She says they know the way into the "Other Kingdom" where fairies and other mystical creatures live. Each full moon, the girls travel there by way of a secret portal they found when Jena was six and he sister Tati was seven. Other that Jena and her four sisters, only her pet frog Gogu knows this secret.

Jena and her family live at Piscul Dracului. The castle was built by an "eccentric nobleman" and Jena says she and her sisters could wander through the castle for years and still find nooks and crannies they hadn't known existed. Jena's father, Teodore, is a merchant who dreamed of owning the castle for many years before making that a reality. The result is that finances are a...
