Wilde Lake

The lake represents deceit. It is named after the man who deceived the original planner of the town. Ironically, a big deception happens here as AJ makes everyone think that Ben Floor fell on his knife while they were fighting. In reality, Rudy killed him.

AJ's Crooked Arm

AJ's crooked arm symbolizes AJ's character. Lu says in the first chapter that one must know where to look. However, if they knew where to look in regard to AJ, they could see he was crooked. No one can get a straight answer out of AJ when the truth matters. He knows how to use language that weaves around the truth.
