Section 10: Pages 295 - 340 Summary
Peter, Kingston and Colin meet to discuss Caliph, comparing notes and information. Colin, with Kingston's authority, discloses some hard facts to Peter. The calls made by Gilly from the Manse in Ireland that appeared to be prearranged signals went to a French number. The number belongs to Magda. Parker continues to give him more background on Magda, including that she and her father were both part of the Communist Party. Parker lays out so much information about Magda that in the end Peter can see the truth of it all. She had cunningly lured him into a honey trap, set him up to be emotionally bound to her, and then had used the only leverage in his life, Melissa, to ensure that he would kill her largest and most prying adversary, Kingston. The information comes at him so swiftly...
